NYSC Member Caught Ráping A Female Student

Gone are the good days when people treat Corpers with courtesy and sometimes feed them free of charge. These days, it is common to see young guys serving Nigeria under the NYSC scheme struggling to "survive" at their place of assignment. TON observed that help is no long as it used to be. The crux of the matter is that today people don't trust easily. Wearing an NYSC gear is no longer enough to be trusted. And a male Corper worsened this fear recently when he was caught... The 26yrs old Corper, identified as Amadi Stanley, was said to have taken a 15-year-old girl, whose parent were friendly with him, saying they were going on a stroll. The girl, a secondary school student, wanted to return home after they've covered some distance, but the Corper refused and they started "dragging". Before the teenage girl could know what was happening Corper Amadi was on top of her and he was said to have forcefully had carnal knowledge of the girl. She was later rescued from him and he was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force in Ede, Osun State, where he is posted to. Corper Amadi was charged before an Osogbo Senior Magistrates court on Tuesday where he was charged for counts relating to abduction and rápe. Prosecutor, Meriti Wilson, told the court that Amadi committed the offence on May 24 at about 6:30pm. When the charges were read to him, Corper Amadi pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail for N100,000 and the Magistrate adjourned the case to July 22, 2013, for trial.
